Tips in Locating Catarina Hostel

• Walking during the day or evening is safe
• On Sundays traveling by bus you will notice few buses as most drivers take the day off and spend with families
• Please Note: We have noticed Local people in really don’t like change when a new business opens. You may encounter a Put Put driver that slanders a business to turn visitors away. Many have a interest in re routing your plans, so be aware, as most likely they have family in competition with a business they are taking you to. lease report to the hostel manager if driver made derogatory comments. We have a  TRUSTED DRIVER that wont rip you off because you are not from Nicaragua. contact us to have him pick you up.
• Our climate is different than Granada. Catarina is cooler, nights can be cool or in cold in rainy season. Bring a sweater or coat to keep warm when the sun goes down. Being 2000′ above sea level makes a difference. We have most days a steady breeze as we are located on the rim, so we don’t get a lot of insects.

Coming from the Airport/ Managua/ Masaya

Most taxi know where Catarina is located-  When you are at the “round about” at the entrance to Catarina you head up the main street to the Church. At that point turn left and then right and go straight till you come to the last street off the main street ( you will see a Topic gas outlet )  Turn left  -look ahead you will see the restaurant El Dorado. Turn Right and head towards and pass by the schools, Soccer stadium, and the Military base. at that point you have arrived as you cant miss our brightly lit front of the hostel.
